Emmaus
In recent years, Emmaus has recognized growing trends that could drastically affect the care continuum we envision for our residents. Increased life expectancies, aging facilities, competition for limited funds, increased regulation and a decline in the available workforce are issues facing all organizations providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
With these issues in mind, Emmaus' Board of Directors has developed a strategic plan centered on five Value Statements critical to our mission and vision:
Community: Nurturing personal growth, dignity and independence within communities.
Teamwork: United in trust and respect to fulfill our mission and ensure each of us reaches our full potential.
Quality: Providing warm, compassionate, person-centered care with an emphasis on safety, health and happiness.
Diversity: Honoring God's diverse and abundant creation inherent in all who share in Emmaus' mission.
Responsibility: Respectful and responsible stewards of the lives and resources entrusted to us all.
Phase One (2006 - 2009) of the Strategic Plan established six Strategic Priorities with supporting initiatives to be accomplished over a 3-year period. This phase involved much research and planning necessary to identify the specific changes needed to achieve the plan priorities.
In Phase Two (2009 - 2013), supporters will begin to see the fruits of much labor. New initiatives were developed to address the program and facility needs that must be met to ensure quality service to Emmaus' residents for the next 15 to 20 years.
