Emmaus Homes staff encourages all recreation program members to explore various activities through a variety of methods, such as interviews and Personal Futures Planning. Every effort is made to involve participants in choosing recreational activities as part of their program day.
Leisure activities are provided throughout the week through a variety of programs, including daily exercise time, sports and swimming at Emmaus' indoor pool. Individuals may also help plant and cultivate vegetable and flower gardens, create crafts or ceramics, play table games, enjoy music through dancing or sing-a-longs, communicate with pen pals or attend computer workshops.
A certified Music Therapist makes weekly visits to Emmaus Homes' West Campus to work with those looking for a supplement to traditional therapy methods. Emmaus Homes also offers pet and plant therapy programs.
Activity within the community is encouraged, and transportation is provided three days per week to area Senior Centers, activities and meals. Emmaus Homes clients are encouraged to join in outings beyond the Marthasville/Washington area, and community service projects, such as trimming soup labels for local schools, provide participants with an opportunity to be on the “giving” side of their community.
Fees are determined in accordance with the State of Missouri Medicaid Program reimbursement rate. Emmaus Homes is an Equal Opportunity Employer and provider of services.
