Senior and Adult Services

The Senior and Adult Services program is designed to give residents CHOICE in their daily activities. Residents and staff work together to develop individualized schedules. Each month the Senior and Adult Services staff releases a calendar of activities from which residents may choose to participate. Staff schedule activities with individual interests in mind and provide opportunities for residents to socialize with friends, maintain existing skills, learn new ones and have meaningful life experiences.

The Senior and Adult Services program provides individuals with a wide choice of activities, including:

  • Arts & Crafts
  • Bible Study
  • Games
  • Special Interest Activities (book clubs, scrapbooking, cooking classes, etc.)
  • Special Olympics
  • Therapeutic Horsemanship
  • Volunteering
  • Visits to the Local Senior Center
  • Sports
  • Movies
  • Community Outings
  • Social Gatherings

In addition to activities held at campus Activities Centers, staff are also encouraged to schedule activities in the homes, such as holiday parties, community outings or craft projects. Evening and weekend activities are also available and are open to members of the community with developmental disabilities.
